What is a Coach Apprenticeship?

EA Tennis have linked up with Easton College to deliver the ASSE Apprenticeship scheme.

This is an innovative programme developed for young people aged 16 to 24 years old who want to pursue a full time professional career in coaching.

Delivered through the governments apprentice scheme, it offers effective training and coach qualifications with specialist mentored experience with coach education tutors. The apprenticeship will also provide a work-based learning pathway, offering the opportunity to ‘earn while you learn’.

How does it fit within the coaching structure?

The Coaching Apprenticeship programme is designed to incorporate both the Level 2 and Coach Qualification, it will provide a structured learning pathway which will include work based learning and mentoring.

  • Earn money whilst training. You will earn £95 per week and be expected to work a minimum of 24 hours each week
  • Exposure to different coaching environments
  • Enhances employment opportunities post apprenticeship. Successful apprentices will be offered the opportunity to continue working with the EA Tennis team
Entry Requirements

To be eligible to do this apprenticeship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Aged 16-24
  • Living in England
  • Not in full time Education or hold a degree
  • Hold a UKCC Level 1 Coaching Qualification (Level 1 Coaching Assistant)
